What the calculator measures

Monthly energy equals rated kW multiplied by quantity, operating hours, operating days, and average utilization. Multiplying that energy by the entered $/kWh rate produces the energy-charge estimate. The annual figure assumes the same monthly pattern for 12 months.

Nameplate power is not always actual power

Motors, compressors, ovens, refrigeration systems, and chargers may cycle or operate below their rating. Use measured input power and logged run time when available. For motors, electrical input can also exceed mechanical output because of efficiency losses.

Costs this estimate does not include

The result excludes demand charges, maintenance, labor, fuel, financing, and differences in production output. New equipment can also change the facility peak, so evaluate coincident operation before treating the energy estimate as the full bill impact.
